Matt and Jordan are a vibrant couple who recently moved from the West Coast to Sandy Springs. Passionate about cooking and spending quality time together, they found themselves in a home that didn’t match their sunny dispositions or culinary ambitions.
Eager to infuse their new space with the light and openness they cherished, they knew their 1960s kitchen needed a significant makeover. Their interior designer pointed them in our direction, and we were thrilled to go on this transformative journey with them.
The original kitchen was dark, closed off, and severely lacking natural light. The layout was cramped, making beloved cooking sessions more of a chore than a joy. The absence of natural light was particularly disheartening for the couple, who prefer the bright, airy kitchens of the West Coast. The kitchen became a daily source of frustration in a home that was supposed to be their sanctuary.
Layout & Material Choices
Matt and Jordan visited our showroom and shared their vision for a nature-inspired kitchen filled with natural light. They chose natural wood lower cabinets, a green tile backsplash extending to the ceiling, and open shelving for an airy feel.
Project Build
We began by demoing the kitchen and removing three walls to create a more open layout with better flow. New cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, backsplash, floating shelves, and Wolf appliances were added to complete the modern transformation.
